Gary Perone Named Kings County American Legion Man Of The Year

02/03/2017 2:18 PM -

The Borough Cup is excited to announce that our Founder, Gary Perone, has been selected by Kings County American Legion as their 2017 “Man of the Year.” The award was created in memory of the great Victor V. Allegretti, who was a pioneering President for the organization.

“I am humbled and honored to have been chosen by the Kings County American Legion as the Man of the Year for my work in serving the Community and Youth Baseball Organizations throughout New York City,” said Perone after getting the news. “American Legion has been in existence for many years. They run a first class facility and do it all for the love and passion of the game.  Thank you once again American Legion.”

Kings County American Legion’s Youth Recreation Facility hosted over 4,500 children last year alone, making them one of the busiest Baseball complexes in the five boroughs. Perone will receive his award at their Annual Baseball Banquet April 2nd at Gargiulo’s Restraunt in Brooklyn. As their main fundraising initiative every year, the Borough Cup encourages everyone to show their support by purchasing a ticket or journal ad. To do so, you can contact their Ticket Chairman, Sergio Allegretti, at 718-372-9800.
